About
How We Work

Every client starts from a different place. Some need a single strategy call, others need a lawyer to handle everything. This page explains how we work: the three service levels we offer, how payment works, our recurring plans, and the commitments we make to every client.

We do not publish prices. The scope of immigration and business matters varies widely, so we give you a quote at the consultation, once we understand your situation, and we confirm it in writing in your engagement letter.

01 — How We Work

Three service levels

01

Consult and Review

For clients who want an attorney’s guidance but plan to handle the paperwork themselves.

  • Strategy call with an attorney by video, phone or WhatsApp
  • Written summary of your options and the risks we see
  • Review of a package you prepared yourself before you file, with notes on what to fix or add

This is a limited-scope service: unless we agree otherwise in writing, we do not appear as your attorney of record or track your case after filing. If you later want full representation, we can move you to that level.

02

Full Representation

For clients who want the firm to handle the matter from start to finish.

  • Form G-28 so that we appear as your attorney and receive copies of government notices
  • Preparation of all forms required for your case
  • Document checklist in English and Turkish tailored to your case
  • Attorney review of the complete package before filing
  • Filing and tracking of the case until a decision
  • Responses to routine Requests for Evidence (RFEs)
  • Interview preparation where an interview applies
03

Premier

For families, executives and businesses who want closer coordination. Premier includes everything in Full Representation, plus:

  • A named case manager as your day-to-day contact
  • Priority scheduling of calls and meetings
  • A mock interview with the attorney before any interview
  • Coordination with your accountant or foreign counsel on tax, corporate or foreign-law questions that affect the case
  • Family members’ filings handled together so that everyone’s case stays in step
02 — How We Work

Our commitments

Plain-language updates

We tell you what happened and what comes next at each milestone: filing, receipt, biometrics, any request for evidence, interview and decision.

Honest assessment

We tell you the weaknesses in your case as clearly as the strengths, and when we believe filing is not in your interest, we advise you not to file.
03 — How We Work

Payment options

Quotes at consultation

Your fee depends on the scope of work, so we quote it after we understand your case.

Payment plans

Payment plans are available on many matters, as set out in your engagement letter.

Government fees

Government filing fees are paid separately to the agency. Third-party costs such as medical examinations, translations and courier charges are also separate.

LawPay

You can pay online through LawPay from our client portal.
04 — How We Work

Recurring plans

Many immigration problems come from a missed date rather than a hard legal question. Our recurring plans are designed to prevent that.

01

Status Care Plan (individuals and families)

  • Deadline tracking and reminders including the 90-day filing window for Form I-751 before conditional residence expires, your naturalization eligibility date, work permit (EAD) and visa renewals, and re-entry permits before long trips abroad
  • An annual check-in call to review changes in your family, job, travel or address
  • Priority help if something goes wrong while you are travelling such as a problem at a consulate or at the border

Our free I-751 filing window calculator and citizenship eligibility calculator give you a first estimate; the plan adds an attorney who watches the dates for you.

02

Employer Immigration Retainer (companies)

  • Answers to HR questions on hiring, transfers and travel of foreign employees
  • Expiration tracking for employees’ status, work authorization and petitions
  • An annual Form I-9 self-audit with written findings
  • Business visitor checks before colleagues or customers travel to the United States for meetings
  • Priority handling of new petitions
05 — How We Work

Switching to Ozek from another firm

You can change lawyers at any stage. When you move your matter to us, we:

request your file

from your previous lawyer, with your written authorization

audit every deadline

in your case, including pending notices and status expiration dates

give you a written status report

that explains where your case stands and what we recommend next
06 — How We Work

What we need from you

Complete and truthful information

including anything you are worried about, such as a past overstay, an arrest or a prior refusal

Documents on time

uploaded through the client portal

Prompt notice of changes

a new address, job, marriage, divorce, travel plans or any government letter

Careful review

of every form before you sign it
Frequently Asked Questions

How We Work: Frequently Asked Questions

Which service level is right for me?

If your case is simple and you are comfortable preparing forms, Consult and Review may be enough. If your case has any complication, such as a prior denial, a status gap or an arrest record, or if you simply want a lawyer to take responsibility for the filing, choose Full Representation. Premier suits families filing together, executives and businesses that need coordination with other advisers. We recommend a level at the consultation.

Why do you not publish prices?

Because the work differs so much from one case to the next. Two applications with the same form number can require very different evidence and very different amounts of work. We quote after we understand your case, and the fee is set out in your engagement letter.

Are payment plans available?

Payment plans are available on many matters. The schedule for your matter is set out in your engagement letter.

Can I upgrade from Consult and Review to Full Representation?

Yes. Tell us before you file, and we will explain what changes and confirm the new scope in writing.

Do you work with clients outside the United States?

Yes. Most of our work is done by video, secure upload and electronic signature. See our page for international clients.
